Individual Consultations

University of Miami faculty, staff and retirees, as well as, their domestic partners, spouses and dependents are able to meet with Employee Assistance Professionals free of charge. UM Faculty and staff may use administrative leave (reference policy) to attend up to three (3) FSAP visits per treatment episode on administrative time. While the variety of concerns presented to the FSAP range widely in their scope, the goal of the FSAP consultant remain the same. Consultants conduct a comprehensive assessment of the presented concern(s), offer support and feedback, and recommend a plan of action for addressing individual concern(s) that take into account, the client’s available resources. When continued support is warranted, follow-up visits, coaching and/or case management services are offered. Recommendations may also include referrals to resources outside the FSAP.  A letter of attendance may be offered directly to those participants who request one be made available to document their participation. Faculty and staff who separate from the University are eligible to receive FSAP consultation and referral services up to 3 months from the date of their separation.
